US Unemployment Rate

The Exchange has listed a series of contracts on the unemployment rate in the United States at the end of 2008. These contracts can be found under Financial -- Economic Numbers -- US Unemployment Rate.

Contract Rules:

This contract will settle (expire) at 100 ($10.00) if the United States unemployment rate for December 2008 is GREATER than the figure specified in the contract.

The contract will settle (expire) at 0 ($0.00) if the United States unemployment rate for December 2008 is the EQUAL to or LESS than the figure specified in the contract.

Expiry will be based on the unemployment rate figure for December 2008 published by the United States Department of Labor (due to be published mid-January 2009).

Due to the nature of this contract please also see Contract Rule 1.7 Unforeseen Circumstances.

The Exchange reserves the right to invoke Contract Rule 1.8 (Time Protection) if deemed appropriate.

Any changes to the result after the contract has expired will not be taken into account - Exchange Rule 1.4
